People We Have Helped
At Geoffrey Leaver we have helped thousands of people receive the compensation that they are entitled to. Our success is based on our long experience and determination always to achieve the best results for our clients.
Below are a few examples of recent cases we have represented.
Greg
Greg was a trainee accountant when he was involved in a Road Traffic Accident whilst crossing a dual carriageway. He suffered from a severe head injury and was in a coma for two weeks and spent three months in hospital. We fought the case for Greg and the defendant brought her own claim against Greg for her own injury.

“I was involved in a road traffic accident on 20th March 2004 which rendered me hospitalised for the majority of the rest of the year and incapable of returning to full time work for the foreseeable future. The accident was so severe in nature that a law suit was raised without my knowledge during the time I was still in hospital. Anne Maguire agreed to take my case on providing legal advice on a no win no fee basis.
During the time when I was in dire need of assistance I always felt reassured by having Geoffrey Leaver acting on my behalf and in my interests during the time that I was incapacitated to such a degree. Basically I just want to make the point that having Geoffrey Leaver there to fight my corner when I was less capable than I’m used to being, or ever thought I would or could be, to manage things, made all the difference in proceeding with the Court case with which I was involved. As a result I cannot thank them enough for this and have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone finding themselves in a similar situation to the one I was in.
Greg received £247,000 as he had to accept that he was 40% to blame for crossing the dual carriage way in front of Traffic.
Christine
Christine was a mum driving on the M6 with her 18 and 5 year old sons. The Defendant drove down a slip road in the wrong direction entering the M6 and colliding head on into Christine’s car. He was killed and Christine and the children were injured.
Christine had severe injuries to her leg and was unable to walk for months. We arranged for her to have a home help to do the housework and look after the family whilst she was incapacitated. We arranged an account for a taxi firm so that she would have transport whenever she needed it when she was unable to drive. We obtained compensation for all of the injured family.

“Five ticks on a form cannot quantify all that you have done for me in what was truly my hour of need. Thank you so much for all your help, your professionalism and your kindness over the last two years. I don’t know what I would have done without your help.
Christine received over £200,000.
Pauline
Pauline was involved in a road accident and suffered whiplash/ shoulder injury and post traumatic stress disorder. Pauline was not happy with the offer of £5,000 that she received through previous solicitors and transferred to Geoffrey Leaver. We investigated further the impact of the Post Traumatic Disorder on her life and were able to prove that had the accident not occurred she would have moved on with her career in the ambulance service and she had therefore suffered future loss of earnings.

Claimant in Road Traffic Accident
One of our clients sustained severe multiple injuries, the most serious being to her right leg which necessitated amputation following three years of unsuccessful attempts to achieve a level of function to her leg to manage her pain and to enable her to be mobile.
She transferred to Geoffrey Leaver after one year, as she had not received effective rehabilitation. Our client is a French National, studying in the UK. She returned to France and we arranged for her temporary accommodation to be adapted, to have a care regime to be put in place and to undergo surgery in France. Thereafter further rehabilitation will take place in the future.
First year Accountancy Student Crossing Road Struck by Car
Our client, a first year accountancy student who was looking forward to studying to achieve a professional career, sustained a bad head injury when he stepped out in front of traffic. Contributory negligence was negotiated.
The accident occurred in his first term and his capacity to qualify as an Accountant was affected. He qualified with a lower degree than otherwise anticipated and was unable to obtain a Training Contract as an Accountant. He therefore pursued an alternative career in marketing.
The Defendants disputed that our client would have qualified as an Accountant and alleged that he would not lose any earnings in his new marketing job.
The case settled on the basis that our client would have qualified as an Accountant and sustained a reduction in his earning capacity as a consequence.
Case settled for £450,000.
Fatal Accident Claim
Our client who was a Chinese National was tragically killed in a road traffic accident. He stopped on the hard shoulder on the motorway and his vehicle was struck in the rear by a lorry on the M25. A dependency claim was brought on behalf of his wife and baby.
The deceased had just been made redundant and there was a dispute on contributory negligence and the deceased’s earning capacity. There was an issue over whether he would, in any event, have returned to China with his family, and subsequently would have had a substantially reduced income. Contributory negligence was resolved, with the dependency claim negotiated and settled within one year.
Case settled for £400,000.
